Summer at Hello Yellow means full days of open-ended, child-directed art- no samples, no "right way," just real materials and total creative freedom. Kids explore, experiment, and build serious creative confidence (while having a blast). With camps at both Downtown Raleigh and North Hills, there's a perfect summer waiting for every young artist. Some camps are already sold out, so grab your spot and let's make it the best summer ever!

Camps

Dream house

Artists will explore their inner designer by constructing their own dream house.  They will be provided with a pre-fab wooden house that will be used as their "blank canvas".  Then they will spend time thinking about interior design!

Students will develop their own idea for a food truck, design and build it, create a menu and even miniature "foods" made from clay.  The possibilities are endless and every truck is completely unique.  This camp concludes with an art show where families can come and check out the artists' hard work!

Using a variety of supplies such as greener, moss, clay, leaves and much more, students will design and create their own model fairy house.  The week will also include making wearable fairy wings, wands and all things magical.

Fall Semester

Mini makers (Ages 3-4)

Mini Makers is a 90-minute sensory-rich experience designed for our youngest artists. Children explore hands-on sensory bins, work in their own art journal, and are introduced to new art materials and concepts through open-ended play. At this age, the focus is on discovery and exploration while building comfort with textures, tools, and creative expression at a pace that honors their natural curiosity and developing independence.

Art explorers (Ages 5-6)

Art Explorers (ages 5-6) is where young artists begin building the foundational skills that will support them for years to come. At an age-appropriate pace, children practice essential techniques such as cutting, drawing, and clay shaping, while gaining confidence with tools and materials. Just as important, they're encouraged to develop their own creative voice, making choices and decisions that reflect their unique perspective. Every project is scaled to their developmental stage, balancing skill-building with the open-ended exploration that lets creativity flourish!

Curious Creators (Ages 7-8)

Curious Creators builds on foundational art skills, giving children the chance to refine their craft in painting, drawing, and clay building. At this age-appropriate pace, students deepen their technique while continuing to define and hone their own creative voice, making more intentional choices and taking ownership of their artistic decisions. Projects are scaled to challenge without overwhelming, striking a balance between skill development and the creative freedom that keeps the process fun!

(Coming soon!)

This fall Hello Yellow is bringing a whole new lineup of after-school classes! From sculpting air dry clay mirrors and picture frames, to building spooky haunted houses and monster homes, to stitching custom embroidery wall hangings and designing wearable denim art, there's something for every age and every kind of young artist!

Fall Semester

Art Innovators (Ages 9-12)

Art Innovators is designed for our most experienced young artists, offering a deeper dive into advanced techniques and multi-session projects that challenge students to think, plan, and create with greater independence. Building on years of skill development, students explore more complex mediums and processes from sculpture to fiber arts to mixed media, while taking creative risks and problem-solving through their own artistic vision. At this stage, the focus shifts toward mastery and originality, empowering students to fully define their creative voice and approach each project with confidence and intention.
